How's that again? EVERYONE must complete an adoption application in order to start the process! Our phone number is a New Mexico number, in the Albuquerque area.    (505-934-2202) Be courteous about calling! Don't call us earlier than 9am or later than 6pm. We are not a shelter. We are a group of foster homes all over the Albuquerque metropolitan area. You cannot "come to see" the animals. We bring them to you! It may take a few days to schedule this! We are ALL volunteers. When we say crate-trained, we mean they sleep there overnight! Animals should NEVER be left in crates for long periods of time! She runs up to greet you, bouncing and slapping her feet! She was released by her previous owner because she was afraid to go down a set of stairs to go outside and was having accidents in the house. As a result, she was kept in the bathroom. At her foster home, she either goes out the doggie door or asks to go out. She is very much a lap dog and will stay on your lap as long at you will let her. She is adorable! He has a 6 month supply of heartworm preventative and his rabies tag. He is a sweet dog. The vet guesses he's about 5 years old. He crate trained, house trained, leash trained, does well with both female and male dogs, and is very patient with a 2 year old in his foster home. He prefers to cuddle and be with someone for most of the day. He's learned his new name and is very charming. The rescuer would like to be reimbursed for expenses. He is young and happy in spite of starting out life by being thrown away by his previous owners and being hit by a car. He is still recovering from the accident and has the stitches to prove it. Romeo is quiet and sweet and loves to cuddle on your lap! He is very confused and was very scared when we first got him, but he has calmed down and is interacting nicely. He has not been around lots of animals before and didn't know where his family was, so he has been through quite a traumatic experience. We need to get him to the vet and groomer now that he is feeling safer. Rocky is a nice boy and will make a nice pet for the right home. Kinda makes you wonder why they got a dog in the first place, doesn't it? So Sassy was apparently looking for some company when she escaped her yard and was hit by a car. A few days after the accident, her family called us. We got her in to see our veterinarian and discovered that she has broken both rear legs and damaged one achilles' heel. She is now recovering nicely but has weeks of physical therapy ahead of her. She is only 8 months old and will heal and probably not remember any of this. Sassy really deserves a wonderful home! She had puppies when we first rescued her but could not feed them and none of the puppies made it. We feel badly for her, but she is doing better now. She is a sweetheart and has become quite the cuddler. He had been run over and his left rear leg was broken. We tried to repair the injury but ultimately had to amputate his little leg. Vader is recovering very well and doesn't seem to even notice that he is missing a limb! Santino Male, adult, Yorkie Can you believe that the previous owners moved and didn't take him with them? He gets along with people and other animals very well, is housebroken and likes to play with toys! Lulu Female, adult, Yorkie Lulu is very shy and needs some time to warm up to her new family. She has been a breeder, and was pregnant when she was dropped at a local facility. She was spayed there before the puppies could be delivered, but in all fairness, she was so thin that no one could tell she was pregnant. This little one has seen hard times, but with some patient socialization, she will become a very nice pet. Bruce loves to be petted and loves to play with toys! He is very good with other dogs (not sure about cats but the shelter said he was good with cats too). Bruce is doggy door trained and sleeps in his bed. We are taking him on walks every morning and he seems to be better and doesn’t pull as much as originally when we first got him. Loves going for rides in the car. Smart dog – learns quickly - Really a great dog! (His foster parents' testimony tells all!) She is very quiet and loving, gentle and sweet. We believe that she has limited vision (not blind, but limited) but she navigates well on her own. She uses a doggie door, sleeps in a crate at night, is housebroken and plays with other animals. She weighs about 11 lbs, Chihuahua maybe Parsons Russell terrier cross about 2 to 3 years old. She likes to sleep above the covers and sometimes under the pillow! She will not lick your face, buy she'll take kisses from you and half close her eyes. She won't give kisses - maybe she got in trouble for that. She loves to be held and cuddled. She has adjusted well with other animals, however, sometimes she'll give the cat a run for his money! He's lucky that she can't jump on a stool or a window sill! She would do well in a adult home with no small children. She had a cherry eye that has been fixed. She will use the doggie door but doesn't know how to ask to go out. She'll just stand at the door until you notice her. She likes to stay close to you. Loves to be carried around, or she'll follow you. Wherever you are, she is! She really doesn't bug you about being held but if you're sitting watching TV, she'll be in your lap. She's good about sharing your lap, too, and doesn't get snappy if another dog, or even the nasty cat, is there! Hopefully someone with room in their heart and lap could find a place for her! We took her to the vet immediately and found that her gums and mouth were full of stickers, grass and foxtails - so bad that the infection had eaten a hole completely through her lower jaw. We had a dental performed, cleaned out the wound and stitched it up. A few days of antibiotics and TLC, and voila! Carlie turned into the cutest, happiest, playful little girl! She is housebroken, crate trained, uses a doggie door and plays pretty well with the other pups in her foster home! Hardy Male, adult, Pekingese Hardy was left in a parking lot all day until someone decided to bring him to a local facility where he stayed for 7 days. It was another week before they would release him and then, only because they thought he had a neck injury. He has been on pain relievers and other medication. We cannot identify any problems yet, and he will visit the vet at least one more time before we neuter him. He is lovable and likes to be on your lap. Hardy is also crate trained. He was left at a local facility and spent some time there before they called us. He is emaciated and was full of ticks and so his veterinary visit may tell us more about his health problems - if other than nearly starving! He is a sweet little guy who really wants to be loved! He sure liked the food we gave him! We are expecting a full recovery so send in your applications now! She also likes cats. She is quiet, very sweet and loves to cuddle. Pokadottie was abandoned and had several flea and tick collars around her neck. She had a bad reaction to these collars, but is doing fine now. She hard to catch on film as she is always on the move. You don't even need to ask. She loves toys and OWNS all of them! She is a ball of energy and cuteness who literally bounces with joy! He is a real escape artist who can really jump. When you first meet him, he is nervous and clingy. Who wouldn't be if you were only one year old and already dumped twice? Oddie WANTS/NEEDS another cat or dog to play with. He is very affectionate once he trusts you. He likes to cuddle and would prefer to sleep in your bed! A curious little girl, she was bitten by a rattle snake last summer and survived it! Pepper is loyal and quiet, and listens really well. She gets along great with dogs and cats, but she really wants her own home. She loves everyone, especially men. Dad (we think) and mom of the pups above. Daddy is a long-haired Chihuahua cross, and mom, on the right, is a Corgi cross. They really love each other, as you can see. The best of all worlds would place them in a home together. Fu Female, adult, Terrier X Fu was extremely apprehensive when we got her. She did not want to be picked up and was very leery of any attention. She is now a very happy little one who loves to play and loves to sit on your lap. She will sleep in your bed if you let her, but she will also rest quietly in a crate overnight. She is housebroken and learned to use a doggie door and likes other animals, too! She cannot be trusted where there is a low fence and will need time to adjust to a new family.
