  • EVERYONE must complete an adoption application in order to start the process!
  • Our phone number is a New Mexico number, in the Albuquerque area.    (505-934-2202)
  • Be courteous about calling! Don't call us earlier than 9am or later than 6pm.
  • We are not a shelter. We are a group of foster homes all over the Albuquerque metropolitan area. You cannot "come to see" the animals. We bring them to you! It may take a few days to schedule this!
  • We are ALL volunteers.
  • When we say crate-trained, we mean they sleep there overnight! Animals should NEVER be left in crates for long periods of time!

Neato is a 3 y/o Chihuahua mix, 13.2 lbs (and on the chunky side). He is an awesome lap dog; loves to sit and be pet for as long as you will let him. He can also be quite shy when first meeting someone, but just needs some time to warm up. No kids under 10 years for this one.

Indian Girl is an incredible little mom! She came to us with two of her pups who were crossed with a Shih Tzu. We have two other younger pups here and she is taking care of them, too! She is happy when not crated since she has spent a lot of her life in kennels. We thought she would be a spinner but has stopped that since we do not crate her at all.

Pierre Pierre
Male, adult, Miniature Poodle
Pierre had a rough start in life. He found himself in a local shelter, fur so long it looked like dreadlocks. Workers at the shelter clipped his fur and found a beautiful little fellow underneath all that mess. They delivered him to our vet to be checked out. He got a clean bill of health and his shots have been updated. Soon to be neutered, we think he is ready to go to a loving home. Pierre is a work-in-progress who has learned to sleep in a crate overnight and uses the doggie door. He is playful and happy, in spite of his previous condition.

Leah is much like Homer and Bearly who came from the same area. She is sweet and playful and has the most incredible white eyelashes! Still pretty much a pup, she like to run and play with toys and other pups. Leah would like a home with an active family that she can hang with! This young fellow has lots of room to grow! His apricot color and curly hair reminded us of Prince Harry, who is currently visiting the US. He is eager to please and cute as a bug. He was found hungry, skinny, dirty and had ticks all over him. Doesn't seem to have made a lasting effect, does it?

Edina’s owner recently passed away. She is very affectionate and loves nothing better than to lay next to her master or mistress on a sofa or easy chair. She is well socialized with both dogs and cats, having lived most of her life with three cats, and currently living happily in a foster household with an older dog. She has been spayed and was updated on shots March 20, 2009. She is smart, obedient, adaptable and eager to please; walks well on a leash; uses a dog door; and is crate-trained (happily and quietly sleeping in a wire cage at night, though undoubtedly could be convinced to switch to the master’s/mistress’s bed, if desired!).

These little girls are so sweet and have been very well cared for. They have been house dogs, use a dog door and are house broken. The previous owner is really hoping that they can be placed together since they are sisters and have never been apart. They supposedly have never been around other dogs either, but are assimilating into the foster home's crew just fine. They love to cuddle, have no problem being picked up, love lots of attention and so far haven't snapped at anyone or anything (however they do growl at cats).

Fred (tan) and Ethel (brown and black) wandered around southern New Mexico until they were lucky enough to find a loving family who rescued them. Their previous owners were never found, and we were fortunate to be able to bring these little ones into our group to find a new forever home. They sleep in a crate at night, and spend their days romping with the other foster pups. They use the doggie door and play well with others. What they would like most is to have a home where they could stay together. They are very bonded!

Noah is awesome. Young, sweet, and looking for a new home! He is mannerly and knows some commands. He is incredible to watch when he runs and plays - so graceful and handsome. Noah has been around young children and all sizes of dogs. He sleeps in a crate overnight, but really doesn't need to be crated. His new owner will have to remember that although he is full grown, he is still a puppy. He is eager to learn and very smart. Plan to help this wonderful guy find a "job" - it's part of the breed!

He likes to play and typical of puppies, he is either on or off! He also likes to sleep in bed with you and has a set of stairs to help him get there. Stevie has some separation anxiety (likely from being carried around all the time...)

This little guy was bought from an auction down south because they felt sorry for him. He is a very handsome fellow. Our foster parents gave him the name, thinking that he was "slow". He is not - he is just a quiet, serious little guy! He loves to be held and he likes to follow you around.

Marty is quite the pup! He plays well with other animals - yes, even cats - and is very smart. He uses the doggie door and sleeps in a crate overnight. He has a super sweet temperament and l ikes to snuggle and cuddle. Marty would make a great addition to a family with kids (not tiny ones!). He is very sturdy for a Chinese Crested as he is the Cobby body type and loves to romp and play. He truly is the perfect dog and is even hypoallergenic. Because he is a hairless he should not be left outside for long periods of time but we believe most dogs should not be!

Fuzzy was left at a local facility. She is an adorable and tiny little girl whose coat is nearly the opposite of a Chinese Crested. Where they have fur, she does not, and where they don't have hair, she does! She is a sweetheart who really needs a quiet and loving home. Her fur is starting to fill in, perhaps due to better nutrition. No small children for this little one!

Aloha Aloha
Female, adult, Chihuahua X
This little girl is sweet! She weighs about 11 lbs, Chihuahua maybe Parsons Russell terrier cross about 2 to 3 years old. She likes to sleep above the covers and sometimes under the pillow! She will not lick your face, buy she'll take kisses from you and half close her eyes. She won't give kisses - maybe she got in trouble for that. She loves to be held and cuddled. She has adjusted well with other animals, however, sometimes she'll give the cat a run for his money! He's lucky that she can't jump on a stool or a window sill! She would do well in a adult home with no small children. She had a cherry eye that has been fixed. She will use the doggie door but doesn't know how to ask to go out. She'll just stand at the door until you notice her. She likes to stay close to you. Loves to be carried around, or she'll follow you. Wherever you are, she is! She really doesn't bug you about being held but if you're sitting watching TV, she'll be in your lap. She's good about sharing your lap, too, and doesn't get snappy if another dog, or even the nasty cat, is there! Hopefully someone with room in their heart and lap could find a place for her!

Princess and another little dog, Pork Chop, were both released by their former owner who could no longer keep them. She is a cute little girl who has turned into a real cuddler! She likes to sleep in bed with you at night and is ready to go if you shake your keys! She will sleep in a crate but prefers to sleep in your bed! Little Princess Little Princess

Under her foster family's loving care this little girl is thriving. Her eye infection is about gone, and she is healing nicely from her dental (several teeth had to be pulled). She is heartworm free and will start on meds May 1. This really loving girl would be very happy with a quiet home and a lap to sit on.
