We are not a shelter. We are a group of foster homes all over the
Albuquerque metropolitan area. You cannot "come to see" the animals. We bring
them to you! It may take a few days to schedule this!

We are ALL volunteers.

When we say crate-trained, we mean they sleep there
overnight! Animals should NEVER be left in crates for long periods of time!

Chi Chi has had a rough few days. Pregnant when we got her, she started having babies during a severe
thunder and lightning storm. She had a total of 8 babies, losing 6 of them over just a couple of days. They
were probably 2 weeks premature. We have the remaining 2 babies under the care of a great lady who hand feeds
the tiniest and neediest of all little pups. They are hanging in there for now and Chi Chi is doing pretty well
herself. She is a nice little dog who deserves a great home.

Little Curly had a dislocated hip that had been that way for some time! Our wonderful Dr. Coleman at
Manzano Animal Clinic put the hip back in place and she has been "hobbled" for a couple of weeks now. Soon to
be relieved of that device, she will be ready to go to her forever home. In spite of her pain and discomfort,
she has never really complained. She is a princess, indeed! Curly is crate trained, leash trained, housebroken,
uses a doggie door, and has probably one of the sweetest dispositions of any animal we have ever had!

Naomi was dumped at a local facility. She had two types of hernias, one of which was life-threatening! Both
were repaired and we were able to take her. She spent a little time recuperating from the serious surgery she had
been through. Now she is interacting nicely, loves human company and likes to sleep in a bed with her family! She
uses a doggie door and is very well housebroken. Because of her surgery, we feel that it would be her best interest to
not have young children in her new family.

Ricki has had a hard life. Someone brought her to a city facility with a badly mangled rright ear leg (her left leg
was also broken at the hip). We got her to the vet (Dr Coleman at Manzano - if you need a wonderful surgeon, he is IT!) and amputated her leg.
She has really come around! No longer in severe pain, she gets along just all the other little ones. She has
a problem with the doggie door, but othewise, you would never know she was handicapped. SHE sure doesn't know it!
