Adoption Applications

To avoid confusion about the application process, we offer this page for prospective applicants. The adoption applications are created using Microsoft Word and saved both as a Word document and as an Adobe PDF. If you cannot download or read either of these two formats, contact us and we will send you an application. You need only fill out one application. If you make several inquiries, we still only need one application. Please fill out the application COMPLETELY. Incomplete applications will not be considered in our process. Please provide references who are not relatives. We assume that your family likes you and will give you a glowing reference. If you particularly like a specific breed of dog, please list that breed. We may not have one of those available, however, and we will not telephone you to tell you that. We always post the photos and descriptions on the web within a day or two, announcing the new pets coming into the system. If you just note that you want a small dog, we probably will wait until you tell us WHICH small dog you are interested in. Most of our animals are small - hence the name Lap Dog. Please help us narrow down the type of dog you are looking for. Then, we can chat. Since we are all volunteers, it isn't feasible for us to make phone calls to discuss all the available animals. DO note the names of animals you are interested in. Mail or email your application to us. Follow up by an email if you see an animal you would like more information about. We keep applications in the active file for 3 months. After that, they go into an inactive file.  Eventually, we shred or burn them to protect the information contained therein.
