Cocker Siblings
Oreo and Buttercup
Oreo and Buttercup are siblings. They are very sweet and very bonded. When we rescued them, they were badly in need of grooming. Cleaning them up (thanks to Kay's Critter Cleaners), they are like different dogs! If you are looking for a couple of really nice pets, call Kathy @832-6891.

"No one to care for me"
Bear
Driving home one freezing evening in January, a family found a small, cute dog walking in the street. He had a collar but instead of a tag they found a note wrapped around it. It read "Looking for a new home. No one to take care of me. My name is Bear". We (and the vet) think he is a pekingese-dachshund mix. The family kept him for 4 months and enjoy him in many ways, but found him to be incompatible with young children. Rather than drop him off at a shelter, they would like to find a suitable home for him. Call us if you think you might be that new home that Bear has been searching for!

Pookie
The ending to Pookie's story is great. The beginning was great. And the middle, well, maybe not so good. Pookie's previous owner lost her job and maybe she lost some motivation. But Pookie has a little dog's attitude and that's probably what keeps him ticking! He lost all of his teeth, had surgery for a testicular tumor the size of a baseball, and survived a broken jaw. He now lives with a volunteer for a sanctuary near Santa Fe. Pookie is one of the pups who needed medical help and an example of how we spend your donations!
