Sandi's Story  Oct 05
Sandi

Sandi could be the poster child, demostrating vividly why small dogs and small children are not good matches.

She belonged to a family with small children who apparently were neither supervised nor trained in appropriate handling of small pets. As a result of falls, or being dropped, or some combination of abuse, she has sustained injuries from which she will never recover.

Sandi is about 8 months old now. She weighs between 2 and 3 pounds. She has trauma-induced blindness in her right eye, and swelling down the vertebrae in her back. We just had a granuloma removed from the side of her tongue and we are told that this was also a result of severe trauma. She will always suffer from neurological problems.

Through patience and medical treatments, Sandi is now becoming socialized. She likes to ride in a car and absolutely loves to be held. She is able to walk and tries to play a little now. She gets massages and lots of visual stimulation. She is like a tiny, handicapped child.

Please help us help other little ones like Sandi. Your donations are tax deductible and the money replenishes our medical fund to help the animals. Lap Dog Rescue of NM has no paid employees. We don't even use our donated funds for dog food and incidentals. In addition to your thoughts and prayers for the little ones like Sandi, we truly appreciate your financial support.

Thank you, Sam, for your special letter supporting little Sandi. We hope sometime to bring her out so you can meet her!
